SpanishEnglishThe Songs: Track by Track - 2. Dime que te quedarás
Dime que te quedarás (Dany Lozada) [click here for full lyrics]
"Dime que te quedarás" is written by Lozada, but sung by Michel, with an introduction from Sombrilla. The cuerpo has a gorgeous melody which spans nearly two octaves and goes as low as the "G" an octave and a half below middle C, extremely low for Salsa, but comfortable for Maza. [audio example 5]
True to form, the first coro goes to the relative minor and starts to introduce rap elements gradually, [audio example 6] but Maza's guías and the second coro maintain the melodicism of the cuerpo until the vicious bloque which introduces the third coro section [audio example 7] completes the transition into the album's dominant mood of aggressive rapped coros and angular tumbaos [audio example 8]
