Pico was the drummer of the legendary Melón/Alain incarnation of the Issac Delgado group that battled it out with Paulito's band of the same period for bragging rights as the greatest Timba band ever assembled. A fair percentage of that great band is still intact in Madrid under the leadership of Alain Pérez and after a period of backing up Celia Cruz, they recorded El desafío in 2001. [Kevin Moore]
