Cuba based rap duo, Zona Franka, blends traditional rhythms with the grit and swagger of hip-hop and rap vocal phrasings. Their clever shout choruses create instant tropical dance classics using their unique self-titled "changui con flow" style.

DAY I (Thursday)

Day one opened with Chicago Salsa Dura band Rica Obsesion and Milwaukee Salsa Dura band Nabori.  One thing that we are noticing as we are listening to many of these bands is that while the Salsa bands of the 1960s and 1970s frequently drew from the songbook of Arsenio Rodriguez, today's Salsa Dura bands are frequently digging into Adalberto Alvarez' book. One could argue that Adalberto might be in the process of becoming the new Arsenio as a source of material for these bands, but time will tell. In between the two bands, some of the competition dancers showed some moves.

DAY II (Friday)

This was Los Hermanos Lebron night. A Band of Brothers in a very literal sense that plays the Nuyorican style of Salsa. The crowd that came to see them was very enthusiastic; no dance demonstrations during the break this time.
