SpanishEnglishCubadisco 2017 - SIMPOSIO INTERNACIONAL CUBADISCO 2017
As part of the 19th Annual Cubadisco International Fair, the International Symposium held by the Center for the Research and Development of Cuban Music will take place from May 16-18, 2017. This year, it is dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the birth of trovador Sindo Garay, a key figure in the Nueva Trova Movement and in the development of protest songs. If you are hispanohablante, this is absolutely worth attending (Bill Tilford has a few times and presented there once), and most of the details are available in the Spanish-language version of this post. It does, however, take place entirely in Spanish, and if you don't speak Spanish, there are plenty of other things to do associated with Cubadisco that are a better investment of your time.
