ENGLISH: Stellar Cuban pianist and composer Harold López-Nussa is now on tour in the United States and will be performing in Evanston, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) on Monday, September 29 at 7:30pm at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Avenue, Evanston.  He will be in trio with bassist Gaston Joya and his brother, drummer Ruy Adrian López Nussa. You can read all the details on SPACE's web page for the event. This is a don't miss event for fans of the new Jazz in Cuba.

ENGLISH:  On Wednesday, September 24, the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences® (LARAS) announced the nominations for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards.  For followers of Cuban music, this year is less exciting than last, which included the Lifetime Achievement Award for Juan Formell and more Cuban nominees.  Still, there are some interesting highlights. Un nuevo programa de radio en español, Domingos Felices, que se transmite todos los domingos entre 2-4pm hora de Chicago por la tarde, cuenta con nueva música cubana y lo mejor de la otra Salsa incluyendo entrevistas con artistas destacados e interesantes.  Este domingo, por ejemplo, el programa ofrece un par de canciones del nuevo album de El Niño y La Verdad y una entrevista en directo con ganador del GRAMMY Marlow Rosado además de una entrevista grabada con ganador del premio Cubadisco Harold López-Nussa. Marlow tiene una nueva grabación, Salsanimal.   Un video:

Mezcla, which has been on tour in the Midwestern United States (including the World Music Festivals in Millennium Park in Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin) and a few engagements in Washington state, returns to the Bay Area for two nights:  Yoshi's in Oakland on Wednesday, October 1, and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz on Thursday, October 2. .Here's a clip from their 2013 performance at Yoshi's Oakland:
